Frequently Asked Questions

Standard store-bought honey is often pasteurized (killing beneficial enzymes) and ultra-filtered (removing all pollen). Our honey is 100% raw and local. We never heat our honey above the natural temperature of the hive, ensuring that every jar is packed with the original nutrients, flavors, and aromas of the hive.

All of our hives are located in California, with most of the hives being moved to different areas of the state 2-3 times during the year. We move our bees to locations where the natural flowers are rich in nectar and pollen, supporting strong hives and healthy bees.

Yes, the honeycomb is the 'filet mignon' of the honey world. It is the rawest form of honey available, sealed by the bees themselves. The wax is entirely edible and provides a wonderful textural contrast to the sweetness. We recommend serving a slice over Greek yogurt or pairing it with crusty bread and sea salt.

Not a single thing. Our honey is 100% pure and unadulterated. We believe nature got the recipe right the first time, so we never add water, corn syrup, sugar, or artificial flavorings. When you buy a jar of our honey, the only thing inside is what the bees collected from the blossoms.

Our harvest is always 'bees first.' We only take the surplus honey that the colony doesn't need for the winter, ensuring our hives stay healthy and strong. We use gentle methods to clear the bees from the honey boxes, and our extraction process is kept at room temperature. This keeps the delicate flavors and nutrients intact before we lightly strain it and pour it into jars.
